China born and raised Lingjing Yin is a london based multi-disciplinary Designer, Researcher and Art Director working across a wide range of domains. She received her MA at Design Products, Royal College of Art in June 2011, following a strong urge of working with interactive system based on hands-on technology, people- centred research and inter-disciplinary collaborative working models. Before that, she was trained as a Furniture Designer.
Her interests revolve around human body and it’s external objects. She tends to treat all the external objects as body’s prosthesis in a physical, poetic and metaphor way. She Loves human and cares about human production of itself as a species in order to understand the cultural & social products and the particularities of its corporeal arrangements and body ideals -- its management, representation, and production of bodies and thus of nature. Most of her works explore the self-cultivation of minds & bodies, the human relationships & identity. Some are reflected from the current happening of communications and device proliferation by looking into how people can simultaneously maintain a sense of wonder and criticality about the objects that they use and the way in which they related to the world.
Currently, hired as a Service Designer in Engine Service Design (one of the world’s leading service design and innovation consultancies). Lingjing enjoys her every moment here working with client such as O2 and Qoros for people-centred research and design revolves around customer experience and service innovation.
