During the novel LOSING BLUE, the main character experienced the missing of his favorite color—blue. The process of his emotional change is subtle, micro however logical. The five stages of grief that people go through following a serious loss were proven by the character which were Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance named by Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross.

My response to the story started with the discovering of the fact that in China, there are 13 million abortions each year, compared to its 20 million births. Paradoxically, Anti Pregnancy products are mostly forbidden of being advertised or broadcasted, leaving its abortion industry thriving. When the context of easier access to abortion than Anti Pregnant method is set, the tragedy start.

My work materialized the 4 steps of a woman’s emotional change towards the fact of losing her baby while leaving the last step what meant to be acceptance untold. Accept or not? The answer would depends on each subjective mind.
