An adaptation of LingJing Yin‘s Touch the Sound project, presented at Show RCA this summer and developed in collaboration with fellow Royal College of Art student Mark McKeague.
They previously developed device to help autistic children to play, explore and express their emotions and feelings through their senses. And a mat that uses the same technology for dance performances.
For Dezeen platform. A site specific sound installation was presented. An empty podium was meant to inviting visitors to stand on top of it and become a sculpture by their presence in the space. Sound would be generated when other visitors touch the person who stand on the podium. Once more people being connected via link hands or any other body part for that matter, it gets the music varies. Hopefully, to encourage visitors to feel and being felt by each other via the mediator of music.
Designer Ting Chung Jessica Cheng was invited to design the sound for this adaptation at Dezeen Platform.
