TOUCH, then you hear SOUND is a symptom experienced by Sound Touch Synesthesia. it’s actually feeling a touch directly in response to a sound. With the help of technology, project TOUCH THE SOUND is recreating this experience for everybody.
Four metal discs were quirkily casted into a tree trunk with negative shapes of body parts in it. When visitors touch the conductive metal, certain parameters of sound would be triggerred. It could be notes, pitch, rhythm or synthesizer effect. Once more people joined the activity by holding hands or other sort of physical contact, the music parameters vary. Thus, a harmony would being heard by all the visitors. The piece is trying to breaking the taboo of physical contact in the public by chanllenging the intemate personal comfort zone.
